SWF East supports the forgotten children of the Dominican Republic
Tampa, FL – June 6-13, 2009. SWF East – nationally recognized leader in apparel decoration equipment – recently supported a mission trip to the Dominican Republic for Digital Products Manager Don Copeland and his family.
The employees of SWF East provided donations of items such as food, clothing, medical supplies and diapers for the children of Casa de Luz, an orphanage for handicapped children in Santo Domingo and the communities surrounding Casa de Luz. SWF East provided financial backing for the trip as well as donations of apparel to be distributed to the people of Santo Domingo.
Don and his wife, Susie, and daughter, Courtney, along with 22 others from Bridgepoint Church in St. Petersburg, Florida, spent a week doing construction, providing donated food and clothing to poor communities, painting, organizing donations and, most importantly, spending time with the children of Casa de Luz.
“While we have been mired in an economic downturn here in the US, it is important to remember that we are all very fortunate, especially compared to virtually all of the third world. Don’s mission trip was a great opportunity for SWF East to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves.” said Scott Colman, President of Tampa-based SWF East.
